Rites of Submission

  • Timely Responses — We aim to respond within the same day. At times, replies may be delayed due to personal commitments; however, each submission is treated with care and attention.
  • Submission Window — Once a review is confirmed, all required materials should be provided within 14 days to ensure timely processing.
  • Updated Information — If you have submitted before, please disclose any changes (label, line-up, release details, etc.) so our editorial record remains accurate.
  • Special Requests — Date-specific reviews may be arranged. If you require a particular date, mention it at the time of submission.
  • Editorial Discretion — All submissions are considered, but acceptance does not guarantee publication. Scheduling remains at editorial discretion.
  • No Cold Promo Blasts — Emails containing only a band name and a link (for example, “check out our music” or “view your downloads here”) without context, release information, or a clear request for review/interview are treated as unsolicited outreach — not a submission — and may be declined.

Rites of Decline

  • Bullying or Pressure — Any attempt to force publication, harass, or aggressively pursue reviews will result in an immediate decline.
  • Missed Response Deadline — If we do not respond within 14 working days, the submission should be considered unsuccessful.
  • Extremist Content — Artists promoting political extremism, hateful ideology, pornography, or propaganda — including NSBM — will be refused without exception.
  • Copyright Violations — AI-generated music, stolen artwork, plagiarised lyrics, or fraudulent representation will lead to rejection and may result in content removal and refusal of future submissions.

Our Ritual Lexicon

  • Forbidden Fruit of Art / Fruit of Art — with permission from Acherontia Styx, celebrating exceptional artistry.
  • Devilmanship — our own term, fusing musicianship, craftsmanship, and showmanship in a gender-neutral rite.
  • Usage Guidelines — our terminology, name, tag lines, and review format may be referenced only with explicit consent.

This includes the Seven Sins structure, associated terminology, and distinctive editorial presentation.

Philosophy of the Sin

We sanctify strengths and use “Disrelish” to note what didn’t resonate.

  • Review Philosophy — in-depth, attentive, objective reviews of music and lyrics.
  • Privacy & Confidentiality — we protect anonymity.
  • Exclusive Access — files and music used strictly for review purposes.
  • No Third-Party Sharing — we do not share content externally.
  • Criticism as Rite — no negative reviews, only constructive “Disrelish”.
  • Discovery — spotlighting new, underrated, and unsigned artists.

Echoes Beyond the Threshold

Thank you for crossing the threshold. This is a passion rite, free from advertising or financial gain.

Let the underground speak. Let the art be heard. Athenaeum of Sin Reviews — Where music is not judged, but revered.

Here, doom weighs heavy, death cuts deep, black metal chills the marrow, and progressive forms stretch beyond comfort. Each release is treated as ritual. Each review, as scripture.
